Have you ever gotten a phone call or text message and had to pull over to respond? Well if you do, then this certainly isn't the place to park your car in a parking space and absolutely mind your own business and respond. You would think a good Christian organization would say "sure park here instead of answering your call or message while driving. We want you to be safe." A very very grumpy and rude older man and woman in a big black chevy pick up drove up beside me after only a minute or so and demanded that I leave the parking lot and I couldn't park there. No explanation allowed from me. I wasn't hurting anyone or anything. I was parked in a parking space and replying to an important message that I had received and I could not wait to answer. I would think the Christian thing to do would be to ask "ma'am is everything okay?" not instantly demand that I leave and say I couldn't park there.
I have been living in Spartanburg for several years and have been looking for a church to attend with my daughter. I went to a wedding at your church and even thought "this is a very nice place. Maybe we will visit here." After the way I was treated yesterday my opinion changed dramatically. It would have been different if I had parked in the middle of your driveway or was causing a disturbance or harm to the property but I was simply parked in a parking space and typing on my phone. If this is how I was treated it makes me worry how I would be treated as a visitor inside the church.Added April 24, 2017 by Sarah Enslin
